Still Life With Iris is a magical and moving story about memory, belonging, and the power of home. Iris lives in the mysterious land of Nocturno, where workers create the world’s goods by night and where memories are kept in special coats called Past Coats. When the powerful Great Goods take Iris away from her family to make her their own, they remove her memories—leaving behind only a single button from her coat. Guided by that button, Iris embarks on a journey with two unlikely companions—Annabel Lee, a young woman from the sea, and Mozart, the famous composer as a child. Together, they challenge injustice, reclaim Iris’ past, and discover the meaning of compassion and courage. This poetic and visually rich play explores important themes of class, empathy, citizenship, and the human need for connection—making it meaningful for performers and audiences of all ages.
